ACR-X Conversion

This Pristine 2008 Dodge Viper ACR was brought to us for a complete Roll Cage install. The Car Is undergoing a facelift to be reborn as a track ready ACR-X. We had the priviledge of replicating the Roll cage in this car (aside from a few minor Changes and TIG welding).
We recieved the car with very little of the body assembled so we could work in and around the car. It's really
A.R.T. 2g Viper GTS Project.
The guys at ART decided to dust of this old project and get her running agian. The intent of the build is simply to showcase some ofour talents with some cool new parts, and most of all show it off beating up on other Vipers around the country.
Lets hope we can keep 1000+ whp from melting the car down on a road course.

Stay tuned for more details on the Build and Progress.
2011 Dodge Viper Cup Sebring race results #2
Sundays race went much smoother than Saturdays. The Green Flag Dropped with Ben Keating out front only to lose control in the first turn. The Race immediatly went under a yellow Caution flag to clean up Ben's mess. The Field was brought back around for one lap with the Pace Car out front followed by a rolling Restart. Two cars were black flagged for passing under yellow and brought in. One car thought it would be funny to issue some Love taps under that yellow. Black flag for him too.
The Restart went off without a hitch with Jeff Courtney and Aj Morgan battling for the lead. Unfortunately Aj's car lost hydraulics in the clutch system followed by a flat tire which put him out of the race about half way through leaving Jeff Courtney unopposed for the

Sebring Dodge Viper Cup 2011 Race #1 Recap.

Today in florida, the first Dodge Viper Cup race of 2011 took place at Sebring International Raceway. The season opener was definatly one to remember.
The day started great with the first practice session going on early on in the day before the storm came in. Qualifying started later in the day with a few on track incidents.
Every other lap resulted In a full coarse black flag. The Vipers were brought off the track twice to clean the mess. Nobody was able to complete a full lap except for Ben Keating as he raced around the track and into the pits for his time.
Come race time, the rain had been coming down for an hour or so and the field was scrambling to make a descision on what tires to run. Half of the field ended up on rain tires, while a select few made the descision to run dry tires.
Aj morgan started the race out front with ben keating right behind him. Todd nelson started seventh in the #18 ART car.
The race started right on time, but unfortunatly by the end of the first straight away disaster struck as the PST car was trying to make his moves through the field. Dave started making his way around traffic from the back of the field on the left spraying water everywhere. Trying to keep the pointed in the right direction proved to be a bit difficult leaving the car nosed in the wall at high speed.
The accident left the track barriers in bad shape needing repair to resume the race. The track crew got the wreck cleaned up quickly, but time was running out. The green flagged dropped agian and the field made one lap before the checkered flag came out leaving the field of cars in the same order they started the race.
Check back soon as we are updating the results and plenty of pictures. Tomorrow we run race #2. Stay tuned.
Dodge Viper sets new street car record at Miller Motorsports Park.
This April during Dodge's Athlete Summit, Kuno Wittmer Piloted a fully Street Legal 2010 Viper ACR around the Utah track a full 4 seconds faster than any other production car. The Corvette ZR-1 previously held the record on the 3 mile full course at 2:03.86.
Kuno put the Viper ACR on the track and beat the record on his second lap in the car. Just three laps in and the 2 minute barrier was broken for the final record Lap.
This adds to a long list of record times the Viper has been laying down at tracks all across the globe.
In Late 2009, the Viper took the production car record at Laguna Seca raceway with a 1:33.92.
In August of 2008, Dutch driver Tom Coronel set the viper around the 12.9-mile Nurburgring at 7:22.1.
