Running 9′s in a Jeep

Last week at PS, we spent our time adding some safety equipment to one our one-off monster Turbo Builds.
Safety is a major concern on and off the track. Most tracks wont even allow you on their premises without the right safety equipment. A street driven vehicle certainly has different needs and demands that need to be met to keep the driver and occupants safe.

This roll cage install was done to a 2006 Jeep SRT8 that had previously been in the shop for the coolest Turbo and Motor combo a Jeep SUV has ever seen! All the functionality was kept in mind of the factory interior. With that in mind, the seats had to move their entire travel, head room had to stay the same for our tall driver, and last but not least the LCD screens had to remain functional!

After all that was fit and correct, next came the tedious step of welding the entire cage into the car and finally painting it without tearing up all the existing OEM interior trim.

SRT Dodge Viper Twin Turbo

This past week we have been working on the TT SRT Viper Project being built for the Texas Mile . The completed Turbo manifolds wedged the Giant 80mm Garrett/Tial Turbos in the viper. The ART 1500+hp core was installed and the full 3″ intercooler piping was built to finish off the intake system.

The Dry Sump Setup showed up the other day including the Billet oil Pan and Dailey Pump. We intend to rev this motor very high to get anywhere near 230+ mph.

Twin Turbo Viper Maxed out the Dyno

The big Bad Red viper Put down some preliminary numbers before the Texas Mile. At 21 lbs, she Flat Lines the Dyno at 1500WHP. Hoping for a new Software update the next day for some 1800whp pulls didnt come to fruitition, but the car is a beast non the less. Check out the Dyno footage.

Single Turbo Ford GT

Well its now December, a good months after the mile and the single turbo FGT made its debut. Unfortunately the event didn’t treat the car too well and we winded up chasing bugs down all weekend. Although, we did manage a few 215+ mph passes on low boost. Seeing the car go down the track was enough to put big smiles on the crew after the long month of assembling the car.

The setup put down just over 1040 rwhp at 19 lbs of boost at 6800. Shaking down the car has shown us how much power and boost we actually have left to add to the car. The new destroked 5.0 liter motor should make its way into the car sometime February in time for the march 2010 Texas mile at about 1500 rwhp :O

The days leading up to the Mile, the owner had the car wrapped in a urban snow camo to really set the car off and stand out. Enjoy the pictures of the process!

1500whp TT Viper build

This Viper featured came to us with a fresh GTS-R engine build complete with dry sump oiling system and Stryker R race heads to be fitted with a new Twin turbo package.

The Car sports two custom TIAL built gt4202′s with extensive machine work done to make them fit in these tightly packed Vipers. Each turbo alone, being good for over 1000whp+ will easily make this viper run with the big dogs.

Aside from the wild engine and turbo setup, the car runs a big brake upgrade from Stoptech. The Exhuast is a Full 4″ Stainless Mandrel bent custom exhuast with two stage Burns Stainless Mufflers.

Everything Came together very nicely for a good fit and a simple efficient setup.

All bets are in on how laggy this giant turbo is going to be on this poor stock motor….

Pump Gas Monster. Twin Turbo Ford GT build.

Over the Last few weeks at the shop we have been hard at work on another TT Ford GT build. This Specific build has been a little different from our standard off the shelf Twin Turbo Kit. The Game plan for the car revolved around making lots of power on pump gas only for tearing up the streets of Austin.

The Basic premise of the setup was to go with a slightly bigger compressor wheel with all the technology stuffed into to try and make it spool comparable to a gt35R but still make more power on the top end. We also started using Tial “q” recirculating Blow-0ff valves on the MAF setups to help with driveability.

The Stock Airbox is utilized with drop in style K & N air Filters. The exhaust was from a previous build, so everything was built to adapt to the factory exhaust mounting locations. Also the Clutch was Ditched in favor of a Stillen Race unit from AP Racing.

All of the intake System is contructed out of 6061 T-6 aluminum and powder coated black for the Look. The Exhuast system is built out of 304 stainless and Ceramic coated black to match and keep the added heat from the turbos to a minimum.

Kuno Whittmer Drives the 240Mph Texas Mile Viper around Texas World Speedway.

Two weeks ago at the Dodge Viper Cup event in Texas, ART brought out the World’s fastest viper ever to make some exhibition runs around the Texas World Speedway Oval. With Kuno Whittmer behind the wheel and Todd Nelson in the Passenger seat, they clocked over 230 mph on the straightaway.

This is just a Quick teaser, as the entire adventure was shot for an upcoming TV show, TBA.
