DIY Supercar: Factory Five GTM
Until Recently I have always wanted to build a car or a chassis of some sort just to test my skills and show people what I'm capable of. Just this weekend I finally put that desire towards a realistic goal.
Enter the Factory Five GTM. The GTM is a kit car intended to be built by the customer in their own garage. You need the kit from Factory Five and a c5 corvette for a donor car to complete the build. Most people opt to find wrecked or broken car for much cheaper to swap parts from.
After doing a small bit of research over the weekend, I quickly formed my own opinions on the car and the
ART Ballista Viper gets updates. Preparing for the Texas Mile.
Next month, Goliad will host the years first Tx mile event. After the Underground Racing Lamborghini Flipped at high speed last year, it was decided to that we would do everything we oculd to make our car as safe as possible in the mean time. The engine was torn down to confirm everything was still happy and some cam changes were favored to help rev the engine higher.
The Roof of the 1800 was removed to access the top of the roll cage. We double checked any welds that were difficult to reach before, and added a considerable amount of gussets to any structural connection. An X-brace was added to the top halo to ease our minds, as well as a few more bars to a few spots that will keep the driver safe in the event of a rollover.
We also consulted with the manufacturer of our parachute to see if there was anything that could be improved for safe measure. So many of the cars at the Tx Mile seem to

This jeep has been on-going project at A.R.T. over the last few months. The turbo on this Jeep will support 1400-1500whp and we intend on using every bit of it. Although the transmission and driveline is going to

This year they have decided to add another date for the years schedule which is going to awesome. Every year competitors are always battling the changing wind conditions in march and october. A.R.T. Ballista goes 233.8 mph! Fastest Dodge Viper ever
Worlds Fastest Dodge Viper
This past weekend at the Texas Mile, the A.R.T. Twin Turbo Viper made its debut with some record breaking top speed passes. On its 3rd pass, she crossed the traps at an astonishing 233.8mph. That is faster than any other previous viper has run in a standing mile. It also eclipses any top speed record that has been run period over any amount of distance.

Twin Turbo Viper Maxed out the Dyno
Well The big Bad Red viper Put down some preliminary numbers before the Texas Mile. At 21 lbs, she Flat Lines the Dyno at 1500WHP. Hoping for a new Software update the next day for some 1800whp pulls didnt come to fruitition, but the car is a beast non the less. Check out the Dyno footage.
