This roll cage install was done to a 2006 Jeep SRT8 that had previously been in the shop for the coolest Turbo and Motor combo a Jeep SUV has ever seen! All the functionality was kept in mind of the factory interior. With that in mind, the seats had to move their entire travel, head room had to stay the same for our tall driver, and last but not least the LCD screens had to remain functional!

After all that was fit and correct, next came the tedious step of welding the entire cage into the car and finally painting it without tearing up all the existing OEM interior trim. The final product is sure to be a work of ART.

This is just a Quick teaser, as the entire adventure was shot for an upcoming TV show, TBA.

This  Pristine 2008 Dodge Viper ACR was brought to us for a complete Roll Cage install.  The Car Is undergoing a facelift to be reborn as a track ready ACR-X.    We had the priviledge of replicating the Roll cage in this car (aside from a few minor Changes and TIG welding).

We recieved the car with very little of the body assembled so we could work in and around the car.  It's really exciting to see these cars taken apart this far.   We learned quite a bit about how the cars are assembled.

We made a few changes on the Roll cage design to better suit a passenger seat as well as TIG welding the entire things.  The roush built cages in all of the  ACR-X's were  MIG welded.

There were a ton of cool supercars at this years event, although not as many big hitters. The red Porsche was my next favorite next to the ART viper

it would have been cool to see the cars run back to back of each other. Maybe next time someone can cordinate some of the fast cars to run together.

Enter the Factory Five  GTM.  The GTM is a kit car intended to be built by the customer in their own garage.  You need the kit from Factory Five and a c5 corvette for a donor car to complete the build. Most people opt to find wrecked or broken car for much cheaper to swap parts from.

After doing a small bit of research over the weekend, I quickly formed my own opinions on the car and the project.    Coming from a background of gawking at anything pre-fab has me thinking the chassis fitment and construction is going to be junk.  The body fitment cant be that great either out of the box.   After reading forum posts, I quickly found out people are spending a lot more time making the bodies fit properly before paint than factory five claims is needed.

So, my intitial thoughts are to find a GTM body if possible as I really like the body shape and style and build a chassis around it.   I dont want to assemble someone elses chassis.

I feel as if it would be fairly easy to adapt a very common suspension setup from another car (ie. Viper) to a simple safe chassis design.   The Drivetrain possibilities are endless.

This isnt a car that I would sell, this isn't a car to drive to work,  this will be something fun to build and show off.

I would keep the car Mid-engine, and it would defiantly sport one of the coolest twin turbo kits most people couldn't dream.   The corvette motor package seems like a logical choice with all the aftermarket support avialable.

Just last year there was a guy selling a complete FFR GTM body for under $3000 (someone find me another!) on a forum dedicated to building the cars.

I would love to see more GTM builds and possibly see one in person.  I wonder if there is one local in Texas?

This jeep has been on-going project at A.R.T. over the last few months.     The turbo on this Jeep will support 1400-1500whp and we intend on using every bit of it.    Although the transmission and driveline is going to soak up a considerable amount of power, it should still put down some really decent numbers.

The 6.1L Hemi motor was rebuilt with forged pistons and rods, to a custom intake manifold and exhuast manifolds to help the turbo systems efficiency.     The Turbo consists of a custom Garret/Tial gt4580, with a full 4" exhuast.   A Tial 60mm Wastegate will regulate the boost while a 50 tial blow off valve will be on the intake side.   A custom front mount intercooler was fit in the Jeep's bumper to keep the intake charges in check.

Injector Dynamics Id1000cc injectors were used to support the fuel needs, as well as a custom fuel pump setup incorporating a triple Walbro configuration.   The fuel line was upgraded with a -10 an feed and a -8 an return.  An Aeromotive Regulator finishes out the fuel system.

This past weekend at the Texas Mile, the A.R.T. Twin Turbo Viper made its debut with some record breaking top speed passes. On its 3rd pass, she crossed the traps at an astonishing 233.8mph. That is faster than any other previous viper has run in a standing mile. It also eclipses any top speed record that has been run period over any amount of distance.

This Update we bring you a sneak peak of the new Color Scheme for the 2010 Season.   The Car spend the last few days being vinyl wrapped while we installed the cool suit, radio systems, video systems, and a few alignments adjustments.

We Will be in Virginia on Thursday/Friday so be sure to check back over the weekend as we update from the TRACK!

Friday is Practice, Saturday is another round of practice and qualifying.  Saturday evening will be host to one race and sunday should fall on the same schedule.
