Running 9′s in a Jeep

Last week at PS, we spent our time adding some safety equipment to one our one-off monster Turbo Builds.
Safety is a major concern on and off the track. Most tracks wont even allow you on their premises without the right safety equipment. A street driven vehicle certainly has different needs and demands that need to be met to keep the driver and occupants safe.

This roll cage install was done to a 2006 Jeep SRT8 that had previously been in the shop for the coolest Turbo and Motor combo a Jeep SUV has ever seen! All the functionality was kept in mind of the factory interior. With that in mind, the seats had to move their entire travel, head room had to stay the same for our tall driver, and last but not least the LCD screens had to remain functional!

After all that was fit and correct, next came the tedious step of welding the entire cage into the car and finally painting it without tearing up all the existing OEM interior trim.

2g Viper GTS Project.

We decided to dust of this old project and this 2econd generation Viper her running agian. The intent of the build is simply to showcase some ofour talents with some cool new parts, and most of all show it off beating up on other Vipers around the country.

Lets hope we can keep 1000+ whp from melting the car down on a road course.

Outlaw Drag Viper

This 1997 Dodge Viper GTS started its build with a teardown of a beatifully prepared streetcar with the tune of about 1300rwhp. The Chassis work is Immaculate, the Carbon Fiber Trim work is amazing. This car is astonishing inside and out all the way from the interior to the power plant.

The build started with complete teardown of this Red Twin Turbo Dodge Viper.

Then the Car Was first Sent to Jerry Haas for the Chassis build. 6 months later the car returned a beast, nothing anyone really expected.

The old Powerplant and drivetrain was removed in favor and bigger and better parts. The New Solid

The New Solid Rear-end 4 link replaced the old Viper IRS. An automatic electronically shifted transmission was decided upon to replace the manually shifted unreliable Viper transmission. The Twin turbo Setup was upgraded to two top mounted Pro Mod PTE units with billet compressor wheels.

The 5″ Aluminum exhaust exits out the side of the car behind the rear tires on each side of the car! The Front mounted intercooler was replaced with a cockpit mounted 3000hp water/air intercooler. The Powerplant will be a bigger displacement Viper Motor with Stryker R race Heads.

The original plan for the car is to be the first Viper to run a 6 second 1/4 mile blast at over 200 mph. Its been a long process in hopes of building a beautiful car inside and out with all the best parts possible. Two years in the making she is very close to making her frist trips through the gears on the dyno.

2006 Viper SRT Twin Turbo Coupe buildup

This Car is quickly shaping up to be built as one of the Baddest Twin Turbo Viper SRT’s to compete with the likes of many big name tuners and well known high powered street cars. The Owner plans to campaign the car at the drag strip, the Texas Mile , as well as the public streets of Texas!

The build will start with the Turbo setup, Twin 80mm Turbos custom machined to fit and look like a gt40R which will be the base for the 1700whp+ power goals.

Tial V-band turbine Housings, with 4″ outlets will be the start of the Twin side Exit 4″ exhuast.

The initial plans for the motor setup revolve around Stryker “R” race heads, 510 Stroker motor with a Custom dry sump oiling system in hopes of being able to rev the motor a bit higher for the high rpm top speed runs we plan to make with this car. The intake manifold is another one-off custom piece to be Sold by A.R.T.

The Car will Ideally sport two G-force tranmission Setups, once for Drag, and one for top speed Mile Blasts.

To compliment, a Mark Williams Rear end and Axles are already installed on the car.

Check back as the build is just taking shape and we hope to have her finished up by the end of october for the Texas Mile Event.

Viper Drag Car Build

Here’s a little teaser of one of two sister cars being built to pursue a few quarter mile records. The powerplant and turbo system are still undecided, but the chassis is back from the chassis builder and plans for the powerplant will be next! its easily suspected that it will make in upwards of 1500+ rwhp.

this ’98 Viper GTS was obtained as a salvaged/wrecked car with little to no frame damage. Within a few days it was stripped down and off to the body shop for some Chassis checking

The car will retain the factory Viper IRS and suspension. Eventually plans are to chase the 6 speed 1/4 mile record, but the chassis is also built around a TH400.

Weight of the chassis is undetermined. but the car sports all Carbon Fiber Body Panels.
