Twin Turbo Viper gets updates. Preparing for the Texas Mile.
Next month, Goliad will host the years first Tx mile event. After the Underground Racing Lamborghini Flipped at high speed last year, it was decided to that we would do everything we oculd to make our car as safe as possible in the mean time. The engine was torn down to confirm everything was still happy and some cam changes were favored to help rev the engine higher.

The Roof of the 1800 was removed to access the top of the roll cage. We double checked any welds that were difficult to reach before, and added a considerable amount of gussets to any structural connection. An X-brace was added to the top halo to ease our minds, as well as a few more bars to a few spots that will keep the driver safe in the event of a rollover.
We also consulted with the manufacturer of our parachute to see if there was anything that could be improved for safe measure. So many of the cars at the Tx Mile seem to have improperly setup parachutes. They are either way to low, high or mounted completely bass-ackwards. Makes you wonder why cars are flipping over and sliding all over the place.
This year the shop manager at ART will pilot the car down the mile. This will be his first year driving a car at the event, we wish him luck! We are really hoping for a 250mph pass. Last year everyone felt the car ran at maybe 50-75%, so we have high expectations.
We previously tuned the car on one 02 sensor for each bank of cylinders with individual EGT sensors. This year we are tuning the car on ten individual o2 sensors, 4 different intake temps, and 6 more additional pressure inputs to monitor even more!.

wish us luck in our quest for 250+mph next month!
